Six-episode miniseries created by Pol Rodríguez and co-directed with Isaki Lacuesta, starring Enric Auquer, Maria Rodríguez Soto and Sergi López. Inspired by the creator’s own family history, the series is an urban thriller exploring real-estate speculation, gentrification and the transformation of Barcelona’s Raval neighbourhood.
The story revolves around Can Mosques, a century-old restaurant threatened with eviction after the building is acquired by an investment fund. Faced with the prospect of losing both their business and an essential part of their family history, its owners decide to fight back with the support of the local community, embarking on a struggle that pushes them to cross boundaries they never imagined.
Shot in Catalan, Spanish, Arabic, Urdu and English, the series combines thriller elements with a strong social perspective and a documentary-style approach to portray the identity and diversity of the Raval, addressing issues such as housing, abuses of power and community resistance.
Internationally presented at the 2026 Berlinale, Ravalear premiered on HBO Max on 22 May 2026.
